City Of Conway Implements New Safety Measures For Halloween Season

Changes implemented after a review of traffic and pedestrian concerns from last year's Halloween festivities.

The City of Conway aka the City of Halloween is preparing for its upcoming season by announcing new safety measures.

City officials are expecting an estimated 600,000 visitors this year throughout the spooky season. After a review of traffic and pedestrian concerns from last year’s Halloween festivities, city staff have introduced a plan to reduce congestion and enhance safety.

The measures include expanded road closures, altered traffic patterns and a dedicated shuttle system. The city will be implementing one-way traffic patterns and road closures Thursday-Sunday from 4-10pm throughout October.

Local agencies are also expanding emergency coverage alongside the traffic changes. Both the police and fire departments will increase staffing during peak activity periods throughout October. For more information on upcoming changes, click here.
