One man is facing charges in connection to death of his grandmother.

On Sept. 23, 75-year-old Lorestine Hunter was found deceased inside her home in the Florence area after her family requested a welfare check.

On Monday, her grandson, Isaiah Hunter was taken into custody following a vehicle pursuit on Interstate 95. The 21-year-old has been charged with murder, burglary, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and three financial offenses.

An investigation found that Isaiah forced entry into her home before fatally shooting her. He is further accused of using her CashApp to steal around $3,500 from her account. He is being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
