Murrells Inlet Murder Suspect Booked Behind Bars

A man from Murrells Inlet that’s accused of murdering a man and injuring a woman is behind bars. 46 year old James Lewis has been charged with murder, attempted murder, malicious injury, burglary and other assault charges after a shooting which killed 76 year old James Thomas of Defiance, Ohio, a 47 year old woman was also shot according to deputies. Lewis was also shot but it is unknown how he became injured. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital and Thomas died at the scene. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
