An American has been arrested in connection to a Canadian school massacre.
The shooting occurred on Feb. 10 and claimed the life of nine people. The suspect was identified as an 18-year-old transgender woman who allegedly killed two of their family members before opening fire at the school. The shooter, Jesse Van Rootselaar, was also found dead.
On Tuesday, 30-year-old James Bryant, a transgender Washington state resident, was arrested. They’re accused of helping fuel the massacre by choosing to aid the shooter. They are also accused of sending money, offering advice and agreeing to broadcast the attack at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia.
Bryant reportedly had the information and ability to alert law enforcement but chose not to. Bryant faces a federal charge of conspiracy to murder persons in a foreign country. The two reportedly met through a random pairing on the online chat service Omegle around three years before the attack.
