Man Charged After Shooting at Homes in Socastee

A man has been charged in connection to shootings in the Socastee area. 62-year-old David Rhoades has been charged with two counts of discharging firearms into a dwelling. He was taken into custody after reportedly firing several gunshots Saturday night that hit two homes in Socastee and also prompted a standoff with Horry County Police. The gunshots were reported near Everett Street and Highway 707. Witnesses say they saw Rhoades standing at the end of his driveway, shooting a pistol. One bullet hit the side of a mobile home and another hit the wall of a front porch before going into the kitchen of a separate residence. No motive for the incident has been released.
