Body Of 66-Year-Old Missing Boater Recovered

Multiple agencies conducted a search and the boater's body was recovered around 9am Thursday.

The body of a missing boater has been recovered.

The boater went missing around 10am Wednesday after a watercraft collided with a log along the Waccamaw River behind Longwood Drive in the Blackmoor area of Murrells Inlet.

66-year-old John Rabon was not wearing a life vest when he went underwater. Multiple agencies conducted a search and his body was recovered around 9am Thursday.

In addition, another occupant of the boat was recovered and taken to a hospital the day of the crash. They have since been released. The crash is under investigation but no foul play is suspected.
