Church Leaders Charged After Sex Offender Allowed To Volunteer

The charges come after it was discovered that the church allowed registered sex offender Warren Perry to volunteer at the church and school.

Charges have been filed against the leaders of the Pawleys Island Community Church and its Christian Academy.

The charges come after it was discovered that the church allowed registered sex offender Warren Perry to volunteer at the church and school. Perry was arrested on a parole violation. He is charged with obstruction of justice and criminal conspiracy.

Former church pastor Don Williams and Jennifer Howard, former director of the academy, are now charged with obstruction of justice, unlawfully placing a child at harm or abandoning a child, and criminal conspiracy.

Williams’ wife, Ginny, is the former church administrator and has also been charged with criminal conspiracy and obstruction of justice.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the church and an investigation remains active. Protestors have gathered outside of the church against the recent actions.
