Man Pleads Guilty In Death Of Virginia Teen Killed In Myrtle Beach
16-year-old Jakolbi Taylor of Roanoke, Virginia was visiting Myrtle Beach for a basketball tournament.
A 20-year-old suspect accused of killing a Virginia teen pleaded guilty Tuesday.
16-year-old Jakolbi Taylor of Roanoke, Virginia was visiting Myrtle Beach for a basketball tournament. He was shot on July 20, 2024 at the 16th Avenue North Beach access point.
Gary Abraham was sporting a backpack and encountered Taylor’s group before motioning them to follow him down to the beach. He is seen on camera taking his backpack off. Shortly after, he allegedly fired multiple shots at Taylor, resulting in his death.
Abraham was also identified by several people present at the time. He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and a weapons charge. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison and was given credit for 669 days in time served.
