CCU Basketball Player Accused Of Sexual Assault Granted Speedy Trial

A victim informed police that she was sexually assaulted by 23-year-old Joshua Beadle and 25-year-old Nadjrick Peat.

A Coastal Carolina University basketball player accused in a sexual assault case has been granted a speedy trial.

The incident allegedly occurred on March 14 along Highway 544 in Conway. A victim informed police that she was sexually assaulted by 23-year-old Joshua Beadle and 25-year-old Nadjrick Peat, both basketball player’s at Coastal.

Arrest warrants suggest they both engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim while she was in an intoxicated and incapacitated condition.

Peat was charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct. His defense attorney pushed for the expedited schedule and the judge approved the request due to Peat’s immigration status requirements.

Peat is set to go to trial on September 14. Beadle was also charged in the alleged assault but his case is pending.
