Crash Involving Motorcycle Results In Death Of One Person

A Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south when it crossed the center line and struck a GMC pickup truck head-on.

A crash involving a motorcycle resulted in the death of one person.

The situation unfolded around 8pm Sunday on Cates Bay Highway near Faulk Circle in the Conway area.

A Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south when it crossed the center line and struck a GMC pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a hospital where they later died. They were identified as 42-year-old James Howard of Conway.

The truck driver was not injured. The crash is under investigation.

This was one of at least three significant motorcycle involved crashes in Horry County over the weekend, resulting in multiple injuries, but the only one with a reported fatality.
