Church Member Arrested And Charged After Threatening Youth Group

A member of a church in Georgetown County has been arrested.
Church members at the Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church reported that individuals associated with the youth group had received photographs and threats electronically.
The messages included threats to come to the next youth group service and “kill members of the congregation.”
The communications were sent through the use of a false account intended to hide the sender’s identity. Police were able to trace the source. The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Tyler Anderson of Andrews.
Anderson admitted to sending the messages. He has been charged with aggravated breach of peace, dissemination of obscene material to persons under 18 years of age and unlawful communication.
