A single-vehicle crash in Horry County claimed the life of one person.

The accident happened shortly after midnight on May 5 along Highway 19 near Cane Branch Road in the Loris area.

A Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling south on the road way when it veered off to the right and struck a ditch before overturning. Rescue crews reported that the crash involved ejection.

The driver of the Tahoe was pronounced dead at the scene. They were the sole occupant in the vehicle but their identity was not publicly revealed at this time.

Lanes of traffic were blocked off as crews worked on the scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating with assistance from the Horry County Police Department.
