Wanted Woman In Custody After SLED Issued Blue Alert

Lacey Cushman has since been arrested but the charges were not immediately known

One woman is now in custody after the South Carolina Law Enforcement agency issued a Blue Alert Monday night.

The statewide alert was issued for 37-year-old Lacey Cushman around 10:30pm as officials searched for the armed and dangerous suspect. She was last seen driving a white Chevrolet Traverse in Barnwell County.

Cushman was involved in a shooting that left a Springfield Police officer injured in the Blackville area.

Cushman has since been arrested but the charges were not immediately known and further details are limited.

A Blue Alert is issued when a suspect “poses an imminent and credible threat to law enforcement, or when an officer is missing in the line of duty.”
