Capt. Jonathan Evans of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department was in the studio with safety tips to keep in mind while we’re in a drought and as we go from Spring into Summer.

For sprucing up your home, mulch over pine straw is always safer but stone is even better!

Also, be sure to stay aware of when burn bans are in effect. If you’re doing ourdoor burning with an approved firepit, it’s impotant to keep an extinguishing agent nearby in case anything were to get out of hand. Plus, never leave a fire unattended!
