One man is facing charges following a standoff with police in Florence County.

Around 5:15pm Friday, authorities responded to Laurel Lane on reports of an incident involving a woman and three children.

The female victim informed police that 28-year-old Nicholas Davis assaulted her and held her three children at gunpoint in the house. She added that he would harm them if police were called.

SWAT and hostage negotiators were able to convince Davis to meet law enforcement with the three kids. When he attempted to leave the residence, he was taken into custody and no children were harmed.

Davis has been charged with domestic violence, high and aggravated, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He is being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
