Apple Is Changing Up The Charging Ports For New Upcoming iPhones
The European Union's Parliament passed a law mandating the incorporation of a USB-C charging port for 'all mobile phones, tablets and cameras sold in the EU.'
Apple announced it will soon change how its next iPhone models charge.
The tech giant is transferring to the USB-C format for its upcoming iPhone 15.
Since 2012, iPhones have been supported by the lightening charger, now the newest model will have a USB-C port. However, Apple is not a stranger to this port as some devices already utilize it including the MacBook and iPads.
The reasoning for the change up comes after late last year, the European Union’s Parliament passed a law mandating the incorporation of a USB-C charging port for ‘all mobile phones, tablets and cameras sold in the EU’. Companies must comply with the measure by the end of next year.
