Two Dead, One Injured In Gas Station Shooting

A shooting at a gas station in Surfside Beach claimed the life of two people and left one person injured. The situation unfolded around 11:45pm Wednesday at the Murphy USA gas station along Mayport Drive.

43-year-old Bruce Taylor and 46-year-old Christina Hammers reportedly entered the store and shortly after, Taylor grabbed his gun and shot Hammers. He then walked across the store and immediately turned the gun on himself. Neither of them survived the injuries they sustained.

A third person, a gas station employee, was also shot but is expected to be ok. Further details are limited as authorities are now working to learn more.
