Darlington Raceway President Kerry Tharp Visits Carolina AM Ahead of the Cook Out Southern 500

The Southern 500 is back at the "Track Too Tough To Tame!"

Audra speaks with Darlington Raceway President Kerry Tharp on what it takes to prepare for the 2023 Cook Out Southern 500.

People from around the country travel to Darlington for the race that will be held on Sunday September 6th at 6:00pm. With so much prep work done to put on this event, Tharp says he is hoping to sell out this race, as they did last year!

The Track Laps for Charity event will be on August 26th from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

The Terrence Carraway Memorial 5K at Darlington Raceway is taking place on Thursday Auguest 31st at 6:30pm.

Plus, don’t miss the return of the Hauler Showcase and Parade on Friday, September 1st! The showcase will begin at 4:00pm at Florence-Darlington Technical College. Enjoy food, music and more while taking a closer look at the NASCAR Haulers. The haulers will make their way to Darlington Raceway at 6:00pm.
