There’s a new approach to helping people break their nervous habits. A new study from a university medical center in Germany found the technique of gentle touching of the hands may help stop habits like nail-biting. Researchers examined more than 260 people who react to stress by pulling out hair, or by chronic nail- or cheek-biting. Researchers found the habit replacement training, which involves gently rubbing the fingertips, palm or back of the arm…at least twice a day, helped 53-percent of participants. They say the new technique helped reduce their harmful habits.
