6th Annual Veterans Day Classic to be Held This Fall

Greg speaks with Jim Callahan, Founder and Director of this year’s 6th Annual MD Roofing/Starheel Properties Veterans Day Classic. The event aims to not only honor veterans but, provide veteran and non-veteran groups much needed funding, through the support of corporate sponsors, individual contributors, players and friends of the tournament.

The event will be hosted November 10 -12, 2023.

Three-Day Match Play Event:
November 10, 11, & 12 / Meadowlands Golf Club​

Two-Day Stroke Play Event:
November 11 & 12 / Sandpiper Bay Golf & Country Club

Three-Day Match Play Event

• Two-Person teams (male and/or female)
• Tournament is open to the first 48 teams (96 players)
• All participants must have a current USGA approved handicap to participate
• Partners with an 18-hole differential of more than 8 strokes after the Meadowlands handicap adjustment is applied will play with the maximum of 8 strokes (50% / 4 strokes in the 9-hole format)
• Play will be from the White and Gold Tees only. Players tee calculation is noted on the entry form.
• 5-Match Schedule Shotgun Starts:
  • Friday: 2:00 PM – Round 1
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – Rounds 2 & 3
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM – Rounds 4 & 5

Two-Day Stroke Play Event
Two tournaments in one: a “Competitive” two-day event, and a “Fun” two-day event. 

• Two-Person teams (male and/or female)
• The “Competitive” tournament is divided flights for NET play. All participants must have a current USGA approved handicap to participate.
• The “Fun” tournament is 6-6-6 format with no handicap required. This event has proven popular with both men and women.
• Play will be from the Red, Gold, or White Tees
• Tee times:
  • Saturday: Beginning @ 9:00 AM
  • Sunday: Beginning @ 9:00 AM
