Prosecutors have 60 days from Monday to announce in writing, whether they plan to seek the death penalty in this case.

On Monday, a judge entered not guilty pleas on behalf of the suspect accused of killing four University of Idaho students last fall.

28-year-old, Bryan Kohberger, was indicted last week on four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary for the November 13th killings of the four students at an off campus home.

Judge John C. Judge read Kohberger his rights and each of the murder and burglary charges outlined in the indictment. When asked if he understood the charges he replied yes to each.

When asked for the suspects plea to the counts, his attorney rose and said, “Your honor, we are standing silent”, the judge then entered the not guilty pleas for him.

The trial has been set for October 2nd and is expected to last around six weeks.
