Idaho Murder Suspect Indicted By Grand Jury

The 28-year-old suspect was arrested in December on four counts of first-degree murder and burglary, as well as accused of breaking into the house with intent to commit a felony.

An Idaho grand jury has indicted the suspect accused of fatally stabbing four college students in November.

The indictment against Bryan Kohberger says he “unlawfully entered” a home in Moscow, Idaho, then “willfully, unlawfully, deliberately, with premeditation and with malice aforethought, killed and murdered” victims Maddie Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin.

A preliminary hearing in the case was originally scheduled for next month.

The 28-year-old suspect was arrested in December on four counts of first-degree murder and burglary, as well as accused of breaking into the house with intent to commit a felony.

The decision to indict Kohberger allows the state to avoid a week-long preliminary hearing that would have required prosecutors to present evidence before a judge, as well as permit the defense counsel to cross-examine witnesses.

The grand jury indictment does not include additional details in the case.

Kohberger will be back in court for his arraignment on Monday where he will enter his plea.
