Intense Armed Conflict In Sudan Prompts Travel Advisory For U.S. Citizens

The conflict was established on April 15th when violence broke out between the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and Sudan's Armed Forces.

An advisory has been placed for Americans to avoid traveling to Sudan as violence continues in the African country.

The travel warning comes after U.S. Embassy personnel were evacuated from the capital city of Khartoum.

The U.S. State Department announced U.S. citizens should refrain from traveling to the area due to highly intense armed conflict, civil unrest, crime, terrorism, and kidnapping.

In view of the fact of the current security situation, the U.S. would not be capable of providing routine or emergency consular services to U.S. citizens in Sudan.

Over 400 people have died so far while 3,500 injuries have been recorded.
