Saylor Hayes’ Mother Reportedly Charged With Child Abuse Earlier This Year
Records show that the mother, Geordyn, was previously arrested on child abuse and neglect charges involving another child earlier this year.
5-year-old Saylor Hayes’ body was found in a body of water on Aug. 31 after she allegedly wandered from a home in Pawleys Island on Aug. 30.
An investigation led to the arrests of her parents, Geordyn Hayes and John Hayes III. They were detained in Tennessee. They were charged with unlawfully placing a child at risk or willfully abandoning a child in connection to Saylor’s disappearance.
Records show that the mother, Geordyn, was previously arrested on child abuse and neglect charges involving another child earlier this year. A second warrant alleges hayes willfully or negligently caused or permitted that child’s life to be endangered.
In Saylor’s case, both John and Geordyn are due in court Tuesday with plans for them to be extradited back to Georgetown County. Further details are limited.
