Sandy Hook Memorial Opens Ahead of 10 Year Anniversary

Ahead of the ten year anniversary, a memorial opened in Connecticut for the victims of the Sandy Hook school massacre. December 14th will mark ten-years since the school shooting occurred, leaving 20 first graders and six educators dead. The memorial was designed as a peaceful place with plant lined paths that lead to a water feature with the names of the victims engraved on a supporting wall. Newtown, Connecticut residents approved $3.7 million to fund the cost of the memorial, which was partly offset by the State Bond Commission providing $2.5 million for the project.
