At Least 5 Dead After Hurricane Nicole Makes November Landfall
Nicole was the first hurricane to hit the U.S. during November in nearly 40 years.
At least five people have been killed after Nicole hit Florida’s eastern coast as a category 1 hurricane. Two people were electrocuted by a downed power line in Orlando, two others were killed in a weather related crash and a fifth died from an unknown cause while on a yacht in Cocoa Beach. Numerous homes and buildings across the Atlantic coast are also reporting damage and flooded streets are making it hard for residents to return home. Governor Ron Desantis has extended a state of emergency to all counties as authorities are not sure of the extent of the impacts. Nicole was the first hurricane to hit the U.S. during November in nearly 40 years.
