Researchers Invent Machine to Track and Zap Roaches Using A.I. Technology

It's an A.I. machine that can spot cockroaches and zap them with a laser.  There is one for mosquitos too!

A team of folks in Scotland may have a solution to riding cockroaches!   They built an A.I. machine that can spot cockroaches and zap them with a laser.  They’ve also got one that takes care of mosquitos. Researchers from universities partnered with a group of engineers, biologists, and machine learning specialists to create the device.   It uses 1,000 images of cockroaches in different lighting to recognize targets and track movements.   Once two cameras attached to the device have located a roach, the device calculates its target’s distance, then sends the information to a galvanometer which uses mirrors to adjust the laser’s direction and then shoots the target.
