From Boat Shows to Chicken Bog and Farmers Markets… Here are the Details on Some Great Local Events
Enjoy plenty of crafts, music and fun at some great local events this weekend!
The Annual Loris Bog-Off kicks off tomorrow morning at 9:00am. The festival began all the way back in 1980 as a chicken bog cooking contest and has evolved with craft vendors, music and kids activities.
the 33rd Annual Wooden Boat Show will be down in Georgetown tomorrow and Sunday. Enjoy more than 100 classic wooden boats displayed on land and water, plus boat-building, a boat race, knot tying, maritime arts and crafts, food and more! That’s 11:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday and 11:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday.
The Pee Dee State Farmers Market is hosting their Plant & Flower Festival. It already kicked off today and will be going on through Sunday. Check out a variety of local vendors for crafts, home and garden décor, plants, food, and of course some South Carolina produce!
Local non-profit organization, Caring in Our Lifetime, is hosting multiple events this weekend to benefit breast cancer patients and survivors. Some include the coastal 5K at 7:00am tomorrow morning in the Market Common. Tomorrow at 5:00pm there’s a Band Together for Breast Cancer concert at Mojo’s in Murrells Inlet and the Boathouse is hosting “Rock the Ribbon” on Sunday from noon to 9:00pm with vendors, music, prizes and more.
Don’t forget about the Myrtle Beach Jazz Festival. That runs today through Sunday on historic Carver Street in downtown Myrtle Beach at Charlie’s Place. This is an outdoor event so bring your lawn chairs to enjoy regional and local jazz artists. Plus, admission is free!
