Taylor Swift Will Go to Trial for Copyright Suit Surrounding “Shake it Off”

Swift wasn't able to shake off a court date.

The singer is headed to court over a infringement lawsuit over her 2014 hit “Shake it Off”. The plaintiffs, Sean Hall and Nathan Butler are claiming that the chorus to “Shake it Off” was lifted from the 2001 song “Playas Gon’ Play,” that they wrote for R&B group 3LW. Trial is scheduled for January after a judge struck down Swift’s motion to reconsider.
