Dave Chappelle’s Attacker Charged with Four Misdemeanors

The man who attacked comedian Dave Chappelle at a performance at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this week has been charged. The Los Angeles district attorney’s office has not filed any felony charges against 23 year old Isaiah Lee but he was charged with four misdemeanors including battery and possession of a weapon. Lee remains in police custody and if found guilty of his charges could face up to a year and a half behind bars. DA spokesperson Greg Risling said that ‘after reviewing the evidence, prosecutors determined that while criminal conduct occurred, the evidence as presented did not constitute felony conduct.’ In a statement yesterday, the Hollywood Bowl said it’s adding ‘additional security measures’ and reviewing existing procedures. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
