Tornado Tears Through New Orleans and Parts of the South

A storm system that spawned deadly tornadoes made its way through New Orleans last night. The storm killed one person and caused widespread damage in the city and surrounding areas. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards said state and local agencies are working together to assess the damage. Search and rescue teams have been combing through debris in neighborhoods overnight. Thousands of people throughout the city and neighboring parishes are still without power. Tornado watches remain in effect in Louisiana as well as southern Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida panhandle.
