Arizona Democratic Party Censures Senator Krysten Sinema

The Arizona Democratic party announced on Saturday that it has formally censured Arizona Democratic Senator Krysten Sinema for voting to maintain the Senate’s filibuster rules. The censure adds to the mounting pressure Sinema faces from those in her state who helped her flip her Senate seat in 2018. Sinema and Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia were the only two Democrats to join all Republicans last week in voting to maintain the Senate’s 60 vote threshold to overcome a filibuster on legislation. Sinema is up for reelection in 2024.
