Milwaukee Bucks Win First NBA Championship in 50 years

Yesterday the Milwaukee Bucks took home their first NBA Championship in 50 years. Game MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team to defeat the Phoenix Suns with a final score of 105 to 98. Antetokounmpo scored 50 points himself and had 14 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. He is the first player to have at least 40 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in a finals game since blocks were first recorded in 1974.

He also became the seventh player to have at least 50 points in the championship round. It’s the first time the team won the NBA Championship since 1971 when they beat the Baltimore Bullets in four straight games led by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson. Three players from the finals will head to Tokyo to play for Team USA during the Olympics those include Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Devin Booker.
