TC Energy Company Pulls Plug On Keystone XL Pipeline
The company behind the Keystone XL Pipeline has officially pulled the plug. Yesterday, TC Energy, the Canadian company behind the project, announced it decided to terminate the project after a comprehensive review of it’s options and consulting with the government of Alberta, Canada. The company will be coordinating with regulators, stakeholders and indigenous groups to ensure a safe exit from the project.
President Biden revoked the lines permit in January on his first day in office after over a decade of controversy surrounding it. The cancellation marks a big win for environmentalists who said the project threatened the environment and would worsen the climate crisis.
