President Biden Meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson
President Biden is currently meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The pair are expected to commit to working on opening travel between the United States and the United Kingdom and lifting restrictions that were put in place during the Coronavirus pandemic. Biden and Johnson are expected to announce a new travel task force that will explore options and make recommendations on how to safely resume international travel.
Yesterday, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the U.S. has established two working groups of public health experts one in the UK and the other with the European Union. According to Sullivan, Biden and Johnson are also expected to agree to a new Atlantic Charter modeled after the one signed by President FDR and Prime Minister Winston Churchill in 1941 that set out American and British goals for the world after the end of World War II.
