Road Named in Honor of Myrtle Beach Fallen Officer
The Myrtle Beach City Council passed a motion to rename Corsair Street in the Market Common to PFC McGarry Street.
A fallen Myrtle Beach Police Officer is be honored in the Market Common. The Myrtle Beach City Council passed a motion to rename Corsair Street in the Market Common to PFC McGarry Street. The street runs between Shine and Airdome Avenues right by the newly renovated police building. McGarry was shot and killed in the line of duty back in 2002 while attempting to talk to a murder suspect. Myrtle Beach Police Chief Amy Prock says this is just one way that law enforcement is attempting to honor fallen officers.
