House Places Restrictions on President Trump

The U.S. House voted yesterday to limit President Trump’s war powers concerning Iran.
The new order will require the president to receive congressional approval before executing any future actions against Iran, except in cases of an imminent attack against the U.S. While the president has said the U.S. and Iran are working towards de-escalation and eventual peace with no further plans for military action on either side, the House still found it necessary to vote on limiting his powers. They say the events from this past week endangered the safety of Americans and prove his inability to make these sort of decisions on his own. The measure passed 224-194 in democratic-run chamber but now faces the republican-held senate and isn’t expected to pass as easily.
