‘Don’t be silent’
President Obama addresses Anti-Trump protests
(WFXB) – President Obama finally addressing the anti-Trump protests.
“I would not advise people who feel strongly, or are concerned about, some of the issues raised during the course of the campaign, I wouldn’t advise them to be silent,” said Obama at a press conference in Germany on Thursday.
Protests have broken out in cities across the country since Trump’s upset victory last Tuesday. Some have been peaceful, but there have been incidents of violence — and a demonstration last Thursday in Portland escalated into a destructive riot.
Trump’s allies, including campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, has called for both President Obama and Hillary Clinton to publicly condemn the unrest. Neither Clinton or Obama have done so yet.
