Death In Florence County Opened Homicide Investigation

Florence County coroner said an investigation led authorities to treat the incident as a homicide.

An investigation has been opened after a body was discovered on Sunday in the Pee Dee area. Officers were called to the 600 block of Brunson Street in Florence County around 3p.m. responding to reports of a cardiac arrest. A victim was discovered dead at the scene. Residence Evacuated While Suspect Barricaded Themselves

Around 3a.m. Monday morning, the suspect was detained.

A suspect was taken into custody early Monday morning. Officials were on the scene as a person barricaded themselves in a home at Gibson Manor Apartments in Scotland County.
