Marlboro County Teacher Charged After Punching Student

A Marlboro County teacher has been charged after allegedly punching a student in the chest. The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25 year old Michael Mcmanus of Clio after a student at Blenheim Middle School of Discovery reported that they had been assaulted on November 1st. Mcmanus was charged with one count of assault & battery 3rd degree and is employed by the school as a dance instructor. Mcmanus was booked at the Marlboro County Detention Center and released the same day on a $1,000 bond. He has since been placed on leave and an investigation is underway.
