Global Covid-19 Cases Reach over 250 Million

Another grim milestone has been reached in the Coronavirus pandemic. According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 250 million cases of the virus have been reported globally. The milestone comes about a year and eight months since the World Health Organization declared the virus as a pandemic in March of 2020. The first 50 million cases were reported over the first eight months in November 2020 and there have been about 50 million new cases reported about every 3 months since.

According to data from Johns Hopkins University, more than 5 million people have died from the Coronavirus in total and the United States counts for about one out of every five cases with nearly 46.5 million total cases reported. About 450,000 new Covid-19 cases were added globally each day over the past week according to Johns Hopkins and 4 billion people have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and about 3.1 billion people are fully vaccinated globally.
