Over 20 People Safely Escape Fiery Plane Crash in Texas
Over 20 people safely escaped a plane crash near Houston Texas yesterday. Upon take off, the jet heading for Boston, struck a fence and erupted into flames at the Houston Executive Airport yesterday morning. All passengers and crew members managed to leave the plane safely with only two minor injuries before firefighters extinguished the flames. Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Sergeant Stephen Woodard told reporters “This is a good day. This is actually a day of celebration for a lot of people.”
According to the FAA, the MD-87 ‘rolled through a fence and caught fire in a field’ just after 10 am while attempting to depart. The plane was headed to Boston for Major League Baseball’s American League Championship series between the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the crash.
