Queen Elizabeth Cancels Trip to Northern Ireland Per Doctors Request

Queen Elizabeth has cancelled a trip to Northern Ireland that was planned for today and tomorrow. According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, the Queen had been advised to rest for the ‘next few days’. The statement reads “her majesty is in good spirits and is disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland, where she had been due to undertake a series of engagements today and tomorrow,” and added “the Queen sends her warmest good wishes to the people of Northern Ireland, and looks forward to visiting in the future.” The Queen and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson were scheduled to attend a church service in Armagh to mark the centenary of partition and Northern Ireland’s foundation. The Queen is still expected to attend the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland later this month.
