Former President Bill Clinton Hospitalized in California

Former President Bill Clinton was admitted to the University of California Irvine Medical Center’s intensive care unit earlier this week but is now on the mend. Clinton was admitted for a urinary tract infection that spread to his blood stream. According to a joint statement from Dr. Alpesh Amin the Chair of Medicine at UC Medical Center and Dr. Lisa Bardack Clinton’s personal primary physician “he was admitted to the ICU for close monitoring and administered IV antibiotics and fluids. He remains at the hospital for continuous monitoring.” They added that Clinton was in the ICU for privacy and safety and not because he needed intensive care.

According to his office, Clinton was in the state for a private event for his foundation, began feeling fatigued and was admitted to the hospital after testing. Hillary Clinton went to the event yesterday to ‘represent both of them’ and then went to the hospital to be with him. Doctors with the hospital say he’s responding well to treatment and they’re hoping to ‘have him go home soon.’
