Jan 6 Committee Trying to Track Down Former Trump Aide Dan Scavino for Subpoena
More than a week after subpoenaing former president Trump’s aide Dan Scavino to cooperate with the investigation into the Capitol Riots, the house committee still hasn’t been able to physically serve him his papers. The committee’s deadline for Scavino and three other close allies to Trump to comply with subpoenas requesting documents is tomorrow with a deposition by next Friday. A source familiar with the situation joked saying the committee should Tweet the subpoena to Trump’s former aide since he’s been actively trolling the panel there in recent days.
Other aides who’ve received subpoenas include former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former Trump advisers Steve Bannon and Kash Patel, as well as a former Chief of Staff for Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller. Patel has acknowledged he received the subpoena and the committee successfully served them to the other two Trump allies. If Scavino doesn’t answer the subpoena, he could be held in criminal contempt.
