Justice Brett Kavanaugh Tests Positive for Covid-19

Justice Brett Kavanaugh has tested positive for the Coronavirus. The Supreme Court announced that Kavanaugh tested positive last night but his immediate family tested negative and he has no symptoms. Kavanaugh is fully vaccinated and underwent routine testing yesterday ahead of fellow Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s investiture ceremony which he will no longer be attending out of a precaution.

His diagnosis may mean he won’t be on the bench for the start the session on Monday. That session would have been the first in-person with all nine justices. Kavanuagh tested negative this past Monday along with the other justices ahead of a meeting behind closed doors to discuss which cases to add to the docket and participated in the ACLI capital challenge three-mile race on Wednesday in Washington.
