Horry County School Board Files Lawsuit Against Juul

Officials with the Horry County School Board have filed a lawsuit against Juul. In a press release, the district said it’s seeking damages for the burdens created as a result of increased student vaping, including health problems in students and the financial burden placed on the school district. Board members say the company falsely marketed it’s products as a safer alternative to traditional tobacco products and targeted minors with colorful packaging and fruity flavors. The suit also aims to recover the cost of prevention programs, counseling and treatment for addicted students.
