Marion County Detention Center Inmates Test Positive for Covid-19

More inmates at the Marion County Detention Center have tested positive for the Coronavirus. According to Marion County Sheriff Brian Wallace, the positive cases came ‘from the same housing unit where individuals were already exposed and it took the expected 5 to 7 days for the symptoms to appear.’ As of Monday there were 15 positive cases among inmates. Wallace said “we are currently quarantining the positive cases for a full 14 days which exceeds the minimum 10 days currently recommended for positive cases.”
