FCSO Deputy That Started Mentoring Program Shares How to Connect with Teens
Florence County Sheriff Deputy Heath Gregg helped start the TACT program in Florence 7 years ago. He is joining forces with Myrtle Beach to bring teens from the Grand Strand to the Pee Dee for some friendly competition Sept. 18, all in the name of fellowship!
Florence County Sheriff Deputy Heath Gregg helped start a the TACT program in Florence. TACT stands for Teens and Cops Working Together. Deputy Gregg started building the mentoring about seven years ago. He also serves as a SRO for Florence One Schools. Teens from all walks of are part of this program where teens meet, are assigned mentors and do some job shadowing. The program is run on donations and sponsorships. There’s a program on the the Grand Strand as well and a basketball game will bring the two areas together for some friendly competition. The tournament is September 18 at the Pearl Moore gym on 500 Barnes Street in Florence. There is no admission charge for the game.
