One Dead After Crash on Highway 501 in Marion County

One person is dead after a crash on Highway 501 and Grady Road yesterday at 5:55 pm in Marion County. According to Lance Corporal Nicholas Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2004 Dodge pickup truck was traveling north on Highway 501 and a 2017 GMC pickup truck was stopped at a stop sign on Grady Road. The driver of the GMC tried to cross 501 from Grady Road and struck the Dodge causing the Dodge to hit a light pole. The driver of the Dodge died due to fatal injuries. The crash is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
